Our Story

Then, now, always

To put on a piece of Gen.K Jewelry is to step into the glittering world of sisters Genevie and Kayde Yeo. Combining the elegance of bygone eras with a modern edge, the eponymous label conjures visions of flitting through the decades where bejeweled bees, birds and flowers alight on earlobes, décolletages, wrists or fingers of wearers.

More than glamorous, though, the jewels of Gen.K Jewelry are timeless objects imbued with a story and soul. Each is thoughtfully crafted and grounded in the duo’s curiosity of nature’s nuances, understanding of emotional connections and dedication to life philosophy. Whether you are celebrating love of any kinds, honouring your dearest or signifying a personal milestone, Gen.K Jewelry’s collections are rooted in the many special moments you live — a true embodiment of modern heirlooms that will journey with you on your own adventures.

No stone is left unturned

As the saying goes: Everything old becomes new again. The adornments of Gen.K Jewelry are no exception, with jade taking on a contemporary guise in the hands of Genevie and Kayde. The archaic Type A Jade stone is given a new lease of life, fashioned into whimsical arrangements and modern silhouettes in brilliant metals, and embellished with semi-precious gemstones that intermingle in dazzling blends of colours.

Together, the harmonious dichotomy of materials combined with unparalleled craftsmanship and artistic intuition capture the beauty of the unexpected — an elegant symbiosis between the past and present.

Flagship Boutique @ Capitol Singapore

Set in the heart of Singapore’s Civic and Cultural District, Capitol Singapore now serves as a fitting home for the brand’s flagship atelier. The jewel box of a space that sits on a historic 1930s landmark makes a perfect complement to Genevie and Kayde’s creations, which boast classic bestsellers and new season delights that bridge the gap between heritage and modernity.

“Investing in one of our pieces reconnects you with the ‘then’ and ‘now’. It is meant to be cherished, worn with ease and passed down for generations to come.”

The Gen.K Jewelry Team

A little bit about ourselves!

Genevie Yeo

Founder

Artistic explorations of the metamorphic jade are central to Genevie Yeo’s evolving aesthetic. Although it may seem as if she was always destined for creativity, jewelry design wasn’t her first path in life. She has held prominent positions in some of the world’s most renowned tech giants where she was eventually struck with an ennui from the increasing demands of the high-pressure industry. Realising her artistry was capped in the grey corporate world, Genevie packed it in and gathered her strength to deviate from the herd. Her bold move paid off and in 2015, culminated in an impressive namesake jewelry launch with her sister.

She threw herself into her passion in the way only a woman with a mission and clear- eyed vision can do: with a singular fixation on expressing the beauty of everyday life through the métier of jewelry design. Genevie’s sophisticated pieces laud the bold and empowered, yet retain an innate sense of tenderness — thanks to her use of jades with soft hues and curves.

Kayde Yeo

Chief Designer/GIA® Certified Graduate

An early affinity with decorative objects and a passion for drawing let Kayde Yeo to her chosen design path. As a child, she explored her inquisitive mind by finding magic hidden away in her memories and transformed them into sketches. This curiosity and zeal for creativity drew Kayde to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, where she completed a major in Jewelry Design & Silversmithing. Thereafter, she continued to hone her aesthetic by working with a slew of leading jewelry houses such as Soo Kee Jewelry, La Putri and Facets Singapore. Kayde took a circuitous route to have a richer understanding of the different aspects of design in the industry, but it was her internship with pioneer modern jade label Elizabeth Kate that ultimately ignited the fire in her to challenge conventions in her creations.

From the perspective of an artist whose medium is jewelry, Kayde is unhinged from any technical restraints and insists that materials bend to her creative vision. Each of her unique pieces builds on a vocabulary of wearable art statements that aim to be an extension of the body — a delicate necklace with a joyfully erratic clash of gemstones traces the collarbone; earrings with jade drops that sway softly with every step; a ring appears as a brushstroke of pastel paint around the finger.
